First certification - Kinda ok

Well this Monday was the time for my first certification. We are supposed to do two certifications per year. One should be technical and the other should be domain specific which mostly is called as functional. Me and my friends decided to write technical first as it is the easiest of the two at level one. Arun, Sakthi and myself were planning this certificate for around a month and finally gave the date as last Monday. We thought of spending half day in office on Saturday to go through some stuff but then as usual we took materials and dropped the plan of coming to office. Weekend passed away as usual. I hardly went through the material to learn something for the exam. Monday came and i went through the material in office on Monday for around 20 mins before the exam. My friend Saravana gave the certification exam before everyone else and scored 91 with ease. He said that out of 75 questions you will get around 40 True or False and asked us to mark all of them as TRUE!

I went to the hall with less hope. The questions in front of me puzzled me a lot. I never thought they will ask such easy ones. As Saravana said, around 40 questions were true or false type and all were true. Some questions were worth reading while others were so boring. Around 30 questions were repeated more than twice. There were few questions where if you answer one wrong four others will go wrong because they changed the questions not even a bit. The marks obtained used to pop up the very next moment after I submit my answers when I was in training. But it took some time for processing and that was kinda intense. The pass mark was 70 (It was 65 till last year. But they have increased it to 70 and the number of attempts for it are reduced from 3 to 2). Though I should have scored more, I got what I deserved. I am saying the paper was kinda ok because the questions were very easy and were not up to the mark but I think they wanted everyone to start well with certification. Next is functional for which I am yet to plan and it is not an easy one. Many failed in their first attempt. So I guess I’ll have to sweat a bit for this if I want to clear this in the first attempt.

Sarvam - Not a treat

I don’t know why the release of Sarvam was postponed. Its been a long time since I saw a movie like this one. I have no words to describe this movie. Let me start with the songs. You might think that the songs are superb after hearing the audio. The audio may be good and my advice is not to see the video of the songs. I don’t know what they were trying to prove with the videos. All songs were badly picturised. Not even a single song was good to see. Next comes the acting of Arya. He had done pretty well in his recent movies and I expected the same in this as well. But he disappointed almost everyone. His acting was very bad this time. Trisha was as usual. And as usual the actress was used only for a while in the movie as they are used in all tamil movies. The story may be different here but the screenplay was horrible. Comedy scenes were even worse. The only comedy was where Simbu’s name was used. That piece was excellent :D

This movie was pathetic and they could have released it last month itself. As far as I know the movie wont do well. I would say Ayan is far more better than this movie. My rating for this is 3/10. For Ayan I can given 5/10 (this itself is more for that movie but comparing with Sarvam I have to give this much).

I wanna say no to ORACLE

Everyday I am asked some doubt related to database that is being maintained by my team or by some other team. Someone faces some issue in their database and they turn their attention towards me. I on the other hand am forced to leave everything else and try to give a solution for it either by myself or by consulting with others. Everything else that I am supposed to do gets stagnant because of this and I am finally forced to stay till 7 or 8 everyday :D But this job is really nice. Now I am forced to learn things through net or books starting with oracle. I need to learn it as fast as i can to get a bit strong in it so that I can give solution to some issues without consulting others.

The match number 17 proved to be the return of Sanath to form. He gave a good support to the in form Sachin and both went on to score a century partnership. They put up 127 for the first wicket and at that rate it was confirmed that they will cross 200 with ease. But then wickets started to collapse as usual and they ended up scoring 187. KKR in reply to MI’s 187 were tumbled for 95. they struggled right from the beginning and they lost the last 8 wickets for just 24 runs. This shows how bad a team can perform.
